Access Bank Plc MD, CEO Arrested As EFCC Raids Marina Lagos Branch After 10 Days On The Run Over $5 Million Diezani Bribe

After about one week on the run, the Managing Director of Access Bank Nigeria Plc has been arrested.
Herbert Wigwe was picked up at the Marina Lagos Branch of Access Bank Nigeria Plc yesterday evening after some gun-toting EFCC operatives stormed the bank.

Staff of the new generation bank were said to have scampered for safety due to the determination of the EFCC officials to bring Herbert Wigwe out of his hiding.
A witness said Wigwe was caught hiding in one of the storage room at the bank this evening after EFCC traced $5 million from Diezani’s $115million bribe to Access Bank.
The $5million bribe was routed through Zenith Bank.
Herbert Wigwe is currently facing money laundering investigations.
