Umuchukwu community of Anambra South local government with a little population of over 3, 000 inhabitants, are creating history in the whole of Anambra State and Nigeria at large. This is where an ongoing construction of the first 15 storey building in the whole of Anambra State is situated.

The 15 Storey Building Under Construction

The community, in the past, had lacked developmental projects .What makes the construction more significant is the fact that the all glass building, when completed, will serve as the major medical research centre and institute in the whole of Anambra State, which in turn will attract tourists to the community. Medical practitioners will also be trained at the centre. Having lived under the shadow of nearby bigger community of Umunze, which is just ten minutes drive from Umuchukwu, for many years and has benefited more from developmental projects by the government, villagers at Umuchukwu are happy that they have been liberated from the shackles of lack of modern facilities. More importantly, the community is also on the verge of making another history as the only community in Nigeria that has an individually built High Court located in their area.
